Training Palestinian programmers in an advanced iPhone development course
Mercy Corps, an international organization that works in 36 countries around the world to advance social equality with the support of the European Union, had selected the
John Bryce Training and Deployment Division, the Matrix Training and Assimilation Division as the most professional and suitable training facility to train Palestinian IT people.
The course focused on advanced development and proper development processes on the iPhone platform and was given to Palestinian developers who had background and experience in the iPhone environment and have had the basic professional training at John Bryce. The programmers are employed as developers, programmers and team leaders in Palestinian IT companies in Israel.
Facebook workshops for Shanti House kids
The
John Bryce Training and Deployment Division, the Matrix Training and Assimilation Division hosted the Shanti House kids in its offices and held a Facebook workshop, especially designed for the kids, which included fashionable Facebook games and interesting applications for teens. Additional activities are planned for the shanty House kids, who are runaways and homeless teens, including a lecture and interactive work on integrating teens in the workforce.
The teens that came from Ethiopia have completed a course from the
John Bryce Training and Deployment Division, which lasted 6 months. During the course the participants benefitted from close training and support, advanced and equipped computer rooms, full living conditions and a token scholarship that left them time and energy for their studies.
The course for young Ethiopians was the result of the collaboration between John Bryce Training, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the Tech-Careers Association, which exists to find opportunities and help young people integrate into the Israeli Hi-Tech market. The graduates are now preparing to be placed in the workforce.
The HaifaTech initiative – a community training center for technology and social involvement
The
MediaTech Hi-Tech, the Training and Assimilation branch of Matrix in the north, in cooperation with the center for the promotion of IT and technological education in the Haifa municipality, had established HaifaTech – a community unique, Israeli training center that integrated high technology learning with social involvement.
HaifaTech believes in equal opportunity, in encouraging the community to personal excellence and creating opportunities for personal and community changes by growing from learning in a good atmosphere with advanced teaching equipment, top-notch lecturers and official material with subsidized prices.
Establishing a rehabilitation project for former drug users and ex-convicts
MediaTech Hi-Tech, the Training and Assimilation branch of Matrix in the north, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the National Insurance, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services, Migdalor, the Center for Drug abuse and the unit for professional training in the Haifa municipality is active within the unique track made to give professional training for former drug users and ex-convicts.
Until now 100 graduates received training, 70% of which are working in IT, and 7 graduates have began working at MediaTech.
Training for Strive participants – empowering through technology
Strive Israel is a unique social plan meant to train for financial independence and career development. Strive Israel gives the participants tools to assist them in fulfilling their personal and career potential.
MediaTech Hi-Tech, the Training and Assimilation branch of Matrix in the north, trains all the participants in the program for skills in IT, internet, office and more and also supports the project with many hours of volunteering, preparation for work interviews, etc.
Cooperation between Matrix and Sense and Accessibility Technologies
A unique cooperation in the field of information accessibility for disabled people had been signed between Matrix and the Intelligence and Technological Accessibility Company in order to promote the technological accessibility of websites, emails, information posts, web applications, cellular application, etc. for the disabled population.
According to the Intelligence and Technological Accessibility data, about 25% of the Israeli population has a physical, sensory or cognitive disability. Due to the move to technology-based services (like the internet, call centers and information posts), organizations are now obliged to supply services that are accessible to the usage of disabled people. This obligation is set by the laws of equal rights for disabled people.

Scholarships to discharged soldiers to integrate in advanced courses held within the Training division of Matrix in the north
Within this joint project of the IDF unit for discharged soldiers, the youth centers and the Matrix training division in the north, the northern branch of Matrix had issued scholarships to be given to discharged soldiers in the youth centers in the north, where the discharged soldiers come for consultation and guidance on work selection, training, education and employment.
The study tracks offered by the project are the most updated and popular tracks in the market, such as: physical technician, authorized network managers, authorized software developers and testers by Microsoft, multimedia and visual communication.
Training troubled girls as software testers (QA)
The Haifa Civil Society with the MediaTech Hi-Tech had initiated a unique project for the training of troubled girls as software testers (QA). The course was taken by 20 capable girls from troubled homes who were given the highest level of professional training in software development and will eventually be directed to the most advanced software companies in Matam, Yokneam and the Hi-Tech areas in the north.
The project was conducted by MediaTech Hi-Tech, the Training and Assimilation branch of Matrix in the north.
Cooperation between Tact Testing and Tech-Career to integrate Ethiopian immigrants in the field of hi-tech:
Tact software testing, the Matrix testing division, has signed a partnership agreement with the Tech-Careers association, which operates a technological training center for Ethiopian immigrants. The goal of the agreement is to promote and integrate Ethiopian immigrants as employees in the hi-tech industry. The training process is 5 months long and it includes different testing methodologies and completing technological subjects, such as SQL, data structure, etc. The students also get experience with hands on software testing with a number of tools. At the end of the training process the students undergo an ISTQB authorization process and receive an authorized software tester certificate. The students’ training at Tech-Careers is recognized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.
Within the partnership, the Tact Testing experts give lectures, accompany the students in a personal mentoring program and remain close by all the way through employment and work orientation. Tact Testing is also obliged to hire employees, in addition to the program graduates it had hired in the past months.
